Font explorer delete fonts
It found a bunch so I fixed them and rebooted. I decided to run CCleaner to fix any registry problems that FEX might have caused. Some regular fonts that used to work in some of design files like Adobe InDesign aren't recognized anymore either, even though I see them in the fonts folder. I got an error message saying "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source file or disk." I tried deleting them all so I could start fresh by installing them via my backups but none of them could be deleted. However, now all the font files in my fonts directory had the shortcut icon on them and they were all pointing to the now nonexistent C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Font Explorer X directory. Luckily, I make regular backups of all my fonts so I found the files for Tahoma and reinstalled them which returned the text to normal. I rebooted and a different really narrow font was being used throughout my system instead of the usual Tahoma. After I did so, text throughout my operating system started disappearing and all my menus were blank. During the deactivation process, I saw that it was copying a bunch of fonts in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Font Explorer X but I figured I could delete that directory because I uninstalled the program. Uninstalling went fine and I did my usual cleanup of lingering files in C:\Documents and Settings that most programs leave behind. So I decided to uninstall FEX because it wasn't worth the trouble. After my computer rebooted, I launched FEX and it gave me some error written in a foreign language and wouldn't let me continue. (I'm still not sure what that means.)ĭuring this process, the power flickered just enough to cause my computer to reboot (great timing!). I installed it and during its first run, it wanted to catalog my fonts which required "deactivating" them for some reason.

I'm a design and I have about 2200 fonts and I recently downloaded FontExplorer X for Windows (FEX) because I heard it was a great way to browse your fonts. This time, I've got a comedy of errors that leads up to the problem. I would be very grateful if someone could help me out. I've got another peculiar problem for the geniuses here at Tech Support Guy.
